EC+I Engineer
March 17Handley James Chemical are excited to be engaged as the search partner to a global chemical manufacturing business, specialising in fine and speciality chemicals. With recent and continued growth across the business we are looking for an experienced EC&I Engineer to join the existing team.
As an EC&I Engineer you will manage the EC&I project delivery for the new site infrastructure and system development to meet business requirements. Support engineering team during planned maintenance projects / plant breakdowns and fault finding. To coach, mentor other members of the team.
The successful candidate will be an experienced engineer with an electrical, control or instrumentation bias, ideally within the chemical manufacturing space, (Not essential – other process manufacturing backgrounds will be considered), will be a positive and driven individual who is comfortable working with people at all levels.
Key Responsibilities

- Development of electrical drawings
- Hazardous area design in alignment with BS EN 60079
- LV Systems design
- Liaise with automation engineer to develop and integrate IACS in line with project requirements
- Manage EC&I installation and commissioning activities in line with project requirements
- Assist in the development and implementation of new electrical, control and instrumentation systems
- Provide training to E,C&I personnel on new systems and maintenance procedures
- Manage project budgets
- Act as ‘management of change’ approver for EC&I systems
- Electrical duty holder
- Control and supervision of E,C&I Contractors
- HNC/HND in relevant engineering discipline (Degree would be advantageous)
- Proven EC&I experience within a process manufacturing environment (Chemical would be advantageous)
- Senior Authorised Person for HV Systems
- Relevant qualifications in E,C&I systems (Design and verification etc.)
- Inspection and testing experience, DCS/PLC Control system, configuration
