Engineering Team Manager

Handley James Chemical are excited to be partnered with a global, £Multi-Billion turnover, chemical manufacturing business, with innovative and industry led solutions, specialising in Advanced Materials with a multitude of applications. With sites all over the world they are true market leaders in their field.We are recruiting for their site in Duxford and are looking for an experienced Engineering Team Manager, this role will lead the mechanical and electrical teams to ensure an effective engineering system that delivers performance (OEE, Schedule Adherence etc.) Your main responsibilities will include:  

• Configure SAP PM to optimise maintenance activities in all key areas. Target KPI’s on planned vs unplanned maintenance
• Continuously monitor cost and spend maps to reduce sub-contractor and engineering procurement costs
• Monitor OEE and ensure scheduling and maintenance deliver the service to minimise and prevent unplanned downtime
• Deliver a LEAN approach to projects on site
• Leader the multidiscipline teams, ensuring support, coaching etc.
• Ensure that EHS is consistently driven as a site priority, driving continuous improvement and working towards a Zero harm objective.

  Currently in a similar Engineering role, you will have a degree in an engineering discipline (Ideally electrical but not essential. You will have proven experience in a leadership capacity and have a strong focus on the teams and people. An engaging and inclusive individual who knows what ‘good’ looks, ideally you will come from a similar process manufacturing related environment, chemical is preferred but not essential.   This is an excellent opportunity for the right individual to add real value to the engineering function on site.   This role is a days role Monday – Friday.   In return my client is offering a basic salary of c£60,000pa, bonus and benefits.   If this role is of interest please click the link to apply or contact Stuart Tomkinson directly.
