We are currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Manager for a client based in the Derbyshire area.   Our client is a key business who aim to be the leading global provider of comfort solutions in all their core markets by responding to key global challenges such as environmental protection, energy conservation, a growing and ageing population, and acoustic insulation. To achieve this, they strongly believe in and focus on short-term efficiency, mutual benefits of partnerships, innovation and long-term sustainability.   The role of H&S Manager will report directly to the head of site and will ultimately develop and execute your improvement plan and contribute to the development of policy, procedures and guidelines in line with the business needs; SHE strategies, policies, relevant legislation and standards.   The role will provide clear strategic direction and continuously improve Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) performance whilst ensuring business compliance within the Groups policies, standards and guidance in addition to the external regulatory requirements associated with COMAH operations.   You will provide mentorship and leadership to your direct reports consisting of both H&S Engineers and Process Safety Engineers.   Requirements  
  • HND within an Engineering/Science Discipline
  • A NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent level health and safety qualification.
  • Mandatory COMAH site experience gained in a similar leadership role
  • Demonstrable experience in the application of SHE management systems
  • A sound understanding of Process Safety Management
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to persuade and influence at all levels of the business
  • Proactive and collaborative with a ‘hands-on’ approach and a passion for Health and Safety.
  • Leads from the front, inspirational, present in the workplace.
