Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

We are partnered with a global manufacturing business specialising in innovative and market leading products supplying into the construction industry. We are recruiting for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team based in Blackburn.   As a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be working in a team covering a 4 on 4 off shift system - days and nights. You will be responsible for maintenance in support of production requirements, covering breakdowns and root cause corrective action, responsible for all aspects of plant maintenance including statutory testing of fire safety systems.   Key Responsibilities  

• Support maintenance department in providing a safe reliable plant and equipment that meets the business needs and complies with statutory and safety legislation and best practices.
• Reacting to breakdowns both mechanical and electrical
• Keeping accurate records of activities and stores requisitions
• Completing planned maintenance activities and installations
• Supporting business projects as and when required

  Key Requirements & Competencies  

• Ideally apprentice trained/HNC/HND Engineer with an electrical bias
• BTEC in Electrical engineering
• Proven experience in a similar position within a manufacturing background ideally process (Plastics. Chemical etc.)
• Ability to read detailed electrical circuit drawings
• Analytical and diagnostic PLC skills, ability to read, trouble shoot programs Siemens, Allen Bradley etc.
• AC and DC drives knowledge
• Safety controls knowledge
• Ability to work on your own as well as part of a team
• Ideally electrical wiring regulations certificate
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
