Handley James Chemical are partnered with a global chemical manufacturing business, with innovative and industry led solutions, specialising in Advanced Engineered Fabrics with several applications. With sites all over the world they are true market leaders in their field with a £4bn turnover.   With an expanding site in Nottingham, we are recruiting for a driven and motivated Process Engineer who will develop manufacturing processes in order to improve efficiency, reduce cost and match customer quality standards.   Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Evaluate existing processes and equipment to ensure improved processing specifications for possible modifications, that would improve safety, quality and efficiency
  • Collaborate with plant QA and other colleagues on supplier related issues that prevent manufacturing process from producing expected results/materials
  • Support sales through written reports, technical data, lab samples and technical assistance through direct customer contact
  • Take a lead role in Manufacturing Excellence programs and implement corrective actions in liaison with Production Manager, Shift Supervisors and all support departments to continuously improve the site performance in applying 5S, SMED, Problem Solving, TPM and Standard Work
  • Effectively and routinely coach, develop and motivating all work colleagues
Currently a process/improvement focused engineer within a similar process manufacturing environment, you will ideally hold an engineering degree in Chemical, Chemistry or Engineering Discipline with appropriate chemical manufacturing experience. Experience with Polymer compounding, mixing, coating or calendaring experience would be advantageous but not essential.   You will be Green Belt qualified as a minimum and have demonstrable experience of 6Sigma, Lean, Statistical Analysis, CI & 5S. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills.   This is an excellent opportunity for someone wanting the chance to put their name on something, have a real impact on a site and division and shape how processes are carried in the future.   You will be required to work days Monday – Friday with an early finish on Friday (1330) and a degree of flexibility with hours.   In return my client is offering a basic salary of £50,000 - £60,000pa up to 15% bonus and benefits.   If this role is of interest please click the link to apply or contact Stuart Tomkinson directly.
