December 20We have been retained by a specialist manufacturing company based in the Manchester area who are looking to recruit a Purchasing Manager to join their business. This organisation is a world leading leading manufacturer of their product. Reporting directly to the Operations Director and will work cross functionally with internal functions and external suppliers, your main responsibilities will include:

- Lead the purchasing function to achieve optimum stock availability with timely delivery of raw materials, finished goods, packaging and consumables
- Establish a partnership and relationships with a supplier for several key materials
- Leading the department on daily basis to ensure materials are ordered and expedited in line with the production schedule
- Look at supplier rationalisation and cost reduction projects
- Work cross functionally with Production and Materials to achieve a lean supply chain flow
- Analyse the direct and indirect spend and negotiate on terms to achieve the best overall supply chain cost
- Introducing a culture of best practice and continuous improvement within the department
