We are partnered with a global manufacturing business specialising in innovative and market leading products supplying into the construction industry. We are recruiting for a Strategic Accounts Development Manager to work closely with the sales team based in the UK.   Working closely with the Sales Director, Business Development Manager and Area Civil Engineers to devise and implement a strategy to develop relationships with identified organisations, creating new opportunities growing the pipeline of work. Exercise commercial understanding and market knowledge to deliver a world-class sales service that enables them to provide meaningful value to our customers through the sale of optimal solutions to drive my client’s UK & Ireland’s financial success.   Key Responsibilities  
  • Support the Sales Manager as appropriate, working closely with and assisting colleagues in the Sales Team, to maximise the potential commercial opportunities across the UK
  • Develop, implement and continuously improve a realistic and successful account development strategy targeted at organisations which will provide maximum benefit for sales within the UK and Ireland
  • Collaborate regularly and effectively with the Business Development Team to identify, access and nurture major projects nationally
  • Build broad and varied relationships within the target businesses effectively maintain, communicating and promoting the businesses value tailored to customer requirements
  • Take accountability for implementation and maintenance of Preferred Supplier Agreements including contractual and financial aspects
  • Work cross functionally ensuring the commercial process is followed by the sales team, collating feedback and make improvements as appropriate
  • Offer solutions to clients that turn qualified leads into sales, building trust by managing expectations honestly and openly throughout the process
  Key Requirements & Competencies  
  • Degree standard or similar in Civil Engineering or equivalent discipline
  • Extensive knowledge of the construction industry would be advantageous
  • Solid commercial awareness is essential
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, including presentations
  • Analytical and tactical thinking
  • Ability to develop and implement a successful business strategy
  • Customer focused, both internally and externally
  • Problem solver mind-set with the confidence and tact to challenge peers across business functions as needed
