Sales Manager
November 3Handley James Chemical are excited to be engaged as the search partner to a market leading speciality chemical business. With nearly 50 years focusing on technical solutions, and a genuine passion for problem solving and providing their customers the best product/solution possible, they are excited to be recruiting for an experienced sales professional with supervisory experience to join their team in the Manchester area – this is due to internal promotion.
This role will join their fuel additives division and focus on both the account management and the identification of new business opportunities within the division, as well as leading a small team providing coaching, mentoring etc.

- Devise plans/processes/procedures/reporting that ensure successful delivery of initiatives in line with departmental strategy.
- Leadership, management and accountability for the delivery and performance of customer accounts and sales targets.
- Translate the sales strategy into actionable team plans and ensure successful execution of sales initiatives.
- Identify new business opportunities and support the team in expanding the sales pipeline and securing long-term customers.
- Develop and maintain sales processes and reporting tools to enable consistent execution and accurate forecasting.
- Oversee and support account management activities across the team to ensure strong customer relationships, effective account planning, and growth.
- Monitor team performance against KPIs, provide regular feedback, and implement corrective actions as needed to meet targets.
- Act as a liaison between the sales team and senior leadership, ensuring alignment and providing valuable market and performance insights.
- Chemistry, Marketing, Languages or Business-related degree.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate strategy into tasks/accountabilities etc.
- Proven experience in international sales, technical service or customer relationship management.
- Supervisory/Leadership experience is advantageous but not essential
- Business proficiency in appropriate foreign language. (Desirable)
