Our client is also recognised as a foremost contract and toll manufacturer, offering an impressive wide range of chemical manufacturing capabilities on behalf of its global customer base.
We are currently recruiting for a Health, Safety and Environmental Technician for their site based in Greater Manchester. The role will assist in the continuous development and improvement of the EH&S culture across the site, your developing knowledge, competence and expertise will be instrumental in promoting a safety-conscious culture, ensuring regulatory compliance and maintaining the site HSE plan alongside the other members of the SLT.

- Collaborate with the department leads and line managers to foster a proactive safety culture and provide training and support to ensure a competent and informed workforce.
- To help to plan, implement, monitor, and review the protective and preventative measures, standards and policies that the business is required to follow, and work to minimise operational losses, occupational health problems, accidents and injuries.
- Develop, monitor and analyse HSE performance metrics, producing regular reports for management to review and enabling continual improvement.
- Facilitate the maintenance and management of occupational health, safety and well-being through systems, audit/ inspection and the establishment of high standards and expectations on employees of safety aware behaviours/ performance.
- Participate in and support process safety assessments including PHA, HAZOP, LOPA and SIL.
- Developing, presenting and administration of appropriate EHS training modules/requirements.
- To produce regular reports and presentations of the status of systems and measures at the site and share throughout the company.
- To ensure that all processes and procedures are implemented consistently and are regularly reviewed to reflect the current requirements.
- Actively support the team through COMAH intervention reviews.
- Drive sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impact and promote eco-friendly practices.
- Actively support the company’s project to achieve the “Net Zero” target.
- You will have experience as an HSE professional, ideally working within a COMAH regulated environment.
- NEBOSH diploma or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, codes of practice and industry standards.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging people at all levels.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including ability to mentor professionals and technicians as required to improve functional capability.
- Knowledge and experience of Process Safety Management and the control methods would be advantageous.
