Handley James are recruiting an experienced Marketing & Events Specialist for an exciting and innovative client of ours, a true market leader, specialising in construction materials and providing workable solutions to their customers all over the world.   This is a hybrid role based in Blackburn, you will be responsible for supporting and assisting the development and delivery of effective digital and marketing communications activity, with particular responsibilities for the adoption of brand strategy and planning, organising and managing events.   Key Responsibilities  
  • To support and assist in developing and implementing UK Marketing communications activity. The end result is the provision of a first class service to both internal and external customers.
  • Responsibility for the planning, organisation and management of UK technical workshops ensuring effective cost control of the workshop budget, creating workshop attendee target lists and making sure workshops are tailored towards a specific application area.
  • Responsibility for the planning, organisation and management of UK focused events / exhibitions ensuring effective cost control of events / exhibitions budget, providing a detailed plan to manning the event / exhibition and ensuring the event / exhibition demonstrates an ROI (Return On Investment).
  • Support the creation of all UK focused literature and on-line materials.
  • Maintain an active list of customers in CRM, and be able to segment the list into audience groups to achieve more focused and targeted communications.
  • Co-ordinate stand design, exhibition graphics, presentations, support materials, literature to ensure application key messages are represented.
  • To carry out an evaluation of the success of each event and report back accordingly.
  • Preparation of new PowerPoint slides from a brief produced by others, improvement of presentational materials. Pro-active management to improve the quality and professionalism of all presentational materials.
  • Preparation and maintenance of a calendar of industry events that will be used for the identification, budgeting and planning of future event participation.
  • Liaison with sales teams to develop appropriate communications activity and drive feedback/stories for PR based on local projects.
  Key Requirements & Competencies  
  • Degree or equivalent experience within Marketing both digital and physical.
  • Proven experience within a similar role, ideally with both a digital and physical focus.
  • Exceptional communication skills and strong IT experience i.e. Microsoft Office etc.
  • Excellent written skills, able to write copy, generate ideas and recommend change/ improvements
  • Good knowledge of digital marketing, and platforms for execution i.e.. CMS, CRM, Web analysis, SEO.
  • Experience of organising and managing exhibitions and conferences.
  • Flexible with UK travel as and when required – must own UK driving license.
