Wow! Just look at the weather…

March 26

While the world is in turmoil, at least mother nature is giving us a little bit of a treat with this lovely weather.

We don’t know about you, but it seems like a lifetime ago that the sun was out and it felt warm.

The downside is that we can’t all get out and enjoy it, but on our 1 permissible outing of the day it’s certainly nice to have the sun beating down on our face.

In a world where people’s expectations are constantly on the up, it appears that we have now been stripped of all privileges and are having to re learn to appreciate the simpler things in life. Things that we probably took for granted - a sunny day, seeing our loved ones and not forgetting our beloved NHS. It’s as though we’re being forced to press the reset button, whether we want to or not!

What’s happening now is truly crazy and will affect every single one of us. There are people worrying about their job security, some are concerned about their finances, a lot are panicking as to whether their business will survive this, and some are wondering whether their relationships will withstand this new #stayhomestaysafe modus operandi.

When I’ve spoken to clients, candidates, friends and family, the overriding feelings and thoughts that people are struggling with are in relation to ‘uncertainty’; there’s a prevailing need for things to ‘get back to normal’.

There’s uncertainty over when we can go back to work, go to the cinema, see our elderly relatives, and do a ‘big shop’ without fear of getting extremely ill.

So for now, let’s hunker down, appreciate the small things and try to take advantage of being able to press that reset button.

When things start to normalise, let’s not forget this experience. Let’s learn from it.
